On the 22nd of October 2017, Gossip Gazer had an exclusive interview with the General Overseer of Ever Increasing Anointing Ministries International, Senior Pastor Taiye Emmanuel Olayemi at his church office situated at 14/16, Olabisi Olaitan Street, LASU/Isheri Expressway, Omolade Bus Stop, Egan, Igando, Lagos State, Nigeria. Below is the excerpt from the interview.

Pastor Taiye E. Olayemi who is the senior pastor and general overseer of Every Increasing Anointing Ministries Internation took his time to analyze the word “recession” which he claimed does not exist in Nigeria. In his own word, he said “What is recession? It is artificial and human-made. We don’t have recession in Nigeria, it is man-made and it is as a result of what I call selfishness which has to do with human nature”. He said in his own view and with regards to his profession which is the Bible, he doesn’t think we have recession.

The General Overseer said that if we can manage the resources we have in Nigeria, the whole world would love to turn to Nigeria. “What do we want in Nigeria that we don’t have? We are saying there is recession but go to Port Harcourt and also to Abuja and see how people live large”, Pastor Olayemi affirmed.

He again said that if we are to talk about real recession that was discussed in the Holy Bible which is called famine where human eats human instead of food because there is no food to eat. It has to do with God allowing it and not just economical view of it and we have not gotten to that stage. “No matter what it is, if you do not eat anything during the day, you will get something to eat no matter how small before the night falls”, the pastor confirmed.

When asked what his view is about the Nation’s condition, he said “Let Nigerian Government stop their political gimmicks and face reality. They are playing games with lives of the poor masses. They said we have recession or going through recession and the president is going for treatment abroad and plane will stay there parked for months. Is that recession?”

He said “They are playing games with human lives and every one of them will suffer for it. It’s not a curse. Anyone that plays with a life that he/she cannot give will suffer for it”.

It is true that Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have accosted some corrupt politicians and ministers who has been looting the nations treasury and retrieved billions of Nigeria which was looted and laundered into foreign account, yet the Federal Government still claimed that nation is in recession.

“Where are the billions retrieved from the looters? If what they (Federal Government) collected from one or two (looters) is enough to budget the nation for a year, where is it?”, the General Overseer questioned.

He conclusively advised that Nigerian government should stop playing games with the lives of the citizens but rather take the bull by the horn and work on the economy to serve the nation rather than hiding what they have retrieved and leaving the poor masses in hunger and poverty.
